Just like the rest of the world, as time passes the field of PR continues to grow and evolve. It has become an extremely diverse field that requires PR professionals to be well versed in several areas of expertise. For many people in the field, it takes time to find which industry is the best fit for their career. Many PR professionals work in several industries before settling into one area of expertise.  

Event planning is one of the many important industries in the PR world. They put together events from big company fundraisers to small parties and gatherings. Everything from booking entertainment, catering food, booking venues, and anything else in between, is covered by event planners.  

There are many necessary steps to successfully accomplishing the goals for events. This process starts by understanding the concept and setting intentions for the event. It is important to lay out the who, what, when, where, and how for each event. Who is the target audience for the event? What are we trying to accomplish with this event? Where will the event take place? How will the event be executed? These questions are essential in the planning stage of any event.  

Another crucial step in the process of event planning is crafting a budget. It is important to always keep the main objectives for the event in mind when creating the budget. This process is all about give and take. Setting realistic expectations and keeping communication open with clients helps this process go smoothly.
